Recompiling Scripts for Jaws for Windows

Sometimes after installing some Jaws scripts, you will need to first recompile the scripts in order for them to work correctly. The steps of recompiling scripts are outlined below.

  1. Hit Insert 0 to open the script manager.
    2. If you are in the program of the scripts you are recompiling, then the .jss file for the scripts will automatically load with the script manager. Now skip to step 5.
    3. If you are not in the program for the scripts you are wanting to recompile, then hit control O to bring up the open dialog box.
    4. Then shift tab one time to be in a list of script files for different programs. If you know the name of the script file, then arrow down to it, and hit enter to open the script file in the script manager.
    5. Now that you have the script file open for the scripts that you want to recompile, hit control S, and you should hear something like, compile complete.
    6. Your done! Hit alt f4 to exit the script manager.
